The spring semester will be closed in the form of remote studies
On May 6, the LLU Senate decided not to resume on-site lectures during the spring semester of 2019./2020. In addition, all end-of-study examinations will be organised remotely during the period of individual studies and examinations. It is intended to make use of the possibilities of the LLU e-study system.
This decision also provides for the organisation of teaching/professional practices so that they can be carried out remotely, but those practices that do not allow them to be carried out remotely will be organised by 31 August 2020.
For this year's graduates, defence of the final papers will also be organised remotely. Faculty are given the right to decide on the submission to the Commission of printed copies of the final papers.
The LLU Fundamental Library is available to students in the order already announced.
But solutions to the 2020 graduation process are still being sought. If the government of Latvia decides to reduce any restrictions by June, the university's leadership will plan to organise graduations in small groups in the courtyard of Jelgava Palace, taking into account all the security measures. In the meantime, however, there is no specific information and it will be reported at a later date.
The remote study process in the LLU takes place from 12 March, when the state's emergency situation was announced. In the course of their studies, teaching staff and students use the LLU e-study platform Moodle, as well as other online communication tools available to themselves.
