Foreign IT graduates receive diplomas

On January 27, three foreign graduates of the Faculty of Information Technology (ITF) of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies - programming engineers and a master of information technology - received higher education diplomas.

Two foreign students of the professional bachelor's study program "Information Technologies for Sustainable Development" who were awarded a professional bachelor's degree in information technology and a qualification of a programming engineer were welcomed at the award ceremony.

During their studies, they have mastered programming languages, system modeling, web design of various complexity, creation and use of databases, becoming highly qualified specialists in the field of software engineering and are ready to professionally participate in software development projects.

Bilal Arshad has summarized the knowledge gained during his studies in his bachelor's thesis "Recognition of tomato diseases using mashine learning" (supervisor: associate professor Tatjana Rubina).

Vinod Kethadi presented his bachelor's thesis "Prototyping Universal Computer Vision Security Appliance based on NVIDIA Jetson Nano" (supervisor: guest lecturer Gleb Bikov).

Danish Parwez, a graduate of the academic master's study program "Information Technologies" successfully defended his master's thesis "Product Market Analysis Using Artificial Intelligence" (supervisor: associate professor Tatjana Rubina).

During their studies, new professionals have developed skills to independently perform information technology activities for scientific research, software and hardware design and development, as well as deepened knowledge in information technology analysis, design and implementation methods, as well as modern software development models and techniques.

Līga Zvirgzdiņa, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, wished the young professionals in the field: "Do not stop at what has been achieved, we also invite you to continue to set new goals for your growth and achieve them, as well as apply the knowledge gained during your studies."

In January 2022, new specialists from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Environmental and Civil Engineering joined the LLU graduates, as well as graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Social Development and the Faculty of Forestry. Graduations in 2022 will continue in June, when graduates of all study programs implemented by the Latvia University of Lifa Sciences and Technologies will receive diplomas.

The graduation took place in an epidemiologically safe environment, in compliance with national requirements.
