International Veterinary Medicine Students from Czech Republic visit LBTU

From 20th to the 26th of october you will be able to meet students from Czech Republic and Slovakia. They are here due to a week long exchange which aims to introduce our foreign visitors to the daily life our veterinary medicine students, share knowledge, ideas and good practise aswell as learn about our culture, customs and meet the latvian people.

In their time here students have already managed to explore Jelgava and have a cultural dinner night together with local erasmus students. The've visited the capital and Riga Zoo with its many animals. Students enjoyed the last days of golden leafed autmn at Sigulda by hiking and exploring Latvias nature. The stables of LBTU offered horse rides and ofcourse a visit to the LBTU clinic for animals and numerous meetings with lecturers to share knowledge and expertise.


 

Globaly the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA) aims to improve the standard of veterinary education internationally through the exchange of ideas, knowledge and culture. The mission of IVSA is to “benefit the animals and people of the world by harnessing the potential and dedication of veterinary students to promote the international application of veterinary skills, education and knowledge”.

The way in which this is achieved is through annual international events (congresses and symposia), facilitating exchanges between our members, endorsing events and projects on national and local levels, and many projects and educational opportunities focusing on animal welfare, one health, education, soft skills and wellness.

This exchange will help International Veterinary Medicine Associasion (IVSA) Latvia streinghten the international bonds, spreading awareness about our university and the the work we are doing.
