Aim

To enable students to acquire academic education in economics through creative teaching and research, to create preconditions for acquiring knowledge and to develop high-quality intellectual, analytical and professional skills in their chosen specialization.

1st study year: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Information and Data Processing, Sociology, Mathematics for Economists, Basics of Accounting, Economic Research, Team Management

2nd study year: Statistics, Finance and Taxes, Marketing, Bioeconomy, Basics of Law, Critical thinking and argumentation, Mathematical Statistics, Regional Economics, Financial Accounting

3rd study year:  Econometrics, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Finances, European Union Projects, Analysis of Economic Activities, Management

4th study year: Digitization for sustainability, International Economic Relations, Control and Audit, Study Project, Practice, Writing a Bachelor Thesis


Learning Outcomes

  1. Students have fundamental and specific knowledge of economic theory and its historical evolution.
  2. Students understand role of the bioeconomy in rational and sustainable use of resources.
  3. Students have theoretical principles of a modern economy in the following specialisations: Business Process Management, Accounting and Finance, Sustainable economy and territorial developments
  4. Students are able, using the acquired theoretical knowledge, to carry out a research activity, demonstrating an analytical approach in the analysis of the research object.

Examination procedure

The assessment of professional skills will be measured in independent and practical work. Which includes: calculations, information collecting and processing with various methods (debates, discussions, case studies, publications, research paper writing, creation of a portfolio, etc.) are used according to the aim of the specific study course.

Knowledge is assessed by grades taken from tests, calculations, individual tasks and as a part of study course exam. The assessment of integrated knowledge, skills and competencies will be tested with the resulting Bachelor thesis.


Admission Requirements

Applicants with completed secondary education are approved for admission to the programme. Applicants must have at least a "Satisfactory" grade in Mathematics, applicants need to be able to present good English knowledge (minimum - CEFR level B2, IELTS score 5.5, TOEFL score 520, TOEFL-iBT score 68) and need to pass an online aptitude test in social sciences.
