We offer comfortable, freshly renovated accommodation for all students in a walking distance to the university, in fact most necessities be it a post office, hospital, quirky café or a nightclub can be reached by foot when you are in Jelgava. However, if it gets too crowded for you, Riga is just a 45min train or bus ride away.

And have you heard about the Jelgava palace? It is a true baroque pearl, built by Bartolomeo Rastrelli in the 18th century as primary residence for the Dukes of Courland. Currently the palace houses the administration of our university as well as three faculties. You can visit the palace and see wonderful paintings by local artists, immerse yourself in history and see the crypts of noblemen of Courland or simply take a relaxing stroll in the surrounding area.

At LBTU you have the possibility to establish connections with real-life practitioners – our students are given lectures and seminars by professionals in various industries, policy makers and experts in their respective fields.
