If you are interested in studying at LBTU as an exchange student, check whether your home university has a bilateral agreement with LBTU (the list can be found here) and contact the international studies coordinator at your home university or department. To be admitted at LBTU as an exchange student you must first be accepted as an exchange student at your home university.
First, your home university (International Office) has to nominate you for your exchange mobility to Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
A nomination includes the student’s name, surname, e-mail address, study area, study level and it is to be sent to email@example.com

Autumn semester: May 1st
Spring semester: November 1st
After your nomination, the International Cooperation Centre of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies will contact you and explain the next steps that need to be taken. You will be asked to fill in Learning Agreement and get all the necessary signatures. Here you may find Study courses with description while filling in the Learning Agreement.
Consider that you should have 80% of courses from one faculty and only 20% can be from others.
Additionally you will have to send in:
- Language proficiency certificate or confirmation*
- Application of Accommodation (if you would like to live in our dormitory)
- Transcript of Records- only applicable if you are applying for internship in Veterinary Medicine

The International Cooperation Centre of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies will send you a Letter of Acceptance by email no later than two weeks after the deadline of the application. This Letter of Acceptance is the official document entitling you to study at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
Enrolment at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies takes place after your arrival, at the beginning of the semester. The enrolment date is given on the Letter of Acceptance sent to you by the International Cooperation Centre of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
The following documents are needed for enrolment:
- Letter of Acceptance
- Passport or Identity Card
- Health insurance certificate
- Learning Agreement signed by all sides
*A good standard of English is required to become an exchange student at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies because teaching involves student participation, class discussion, project work and student presentation. It means that you must have a command of English equivalent minimum to the pass grade at B2 level (CEFR) (IELTS - score 6,0).
