Faculty of Engineering triumphs at Azemitolog's festival
On the 3rd of October at LLU Jelgavas Palace backyard for the 49th time were held the traditional and of the oldest university celebrations – Azemitologs. At the backyard of Jelgava palace gathered freshmen from all eight faculties to show their prepared homework and demonstrate their adherence to the great family of LLU.
This year each faculty freshman had to prepare a theatrical assignment – a performance under the motto “Who tries that achieves..” Students creative thought had flown far starting from fairy tale worth stories up to Rail Baltica construction and Rio Olympics.
The winners of Azemitolgs Grand Prize became freshmen of the Faculty of Engineering with a handmade harvester, but Small Prize went to freshmen of the Faculty of Food Technology who had made their dean a royal headpiece.
Audience and jury sympathy awards went to other faculties: Jelgava City Council sympathy award went to the Faculty of Economics and Social Development, Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Engineering won the Ltd. “Amazone” sympathy award, Young Farmers Club representative was moved by the perseverance of Forest Faculty students.
Student corporations "Fraternitas Imantica", "Ventonia" and "Varavīksne" handed over their award to the Faculty of Engineering. Forest Faculty student association “Šalkone” award was given to the Faculty of Environment and Civil Engineering, but the Students Governments sympathy award went to student from the Faculty of Economics and Social Development.
To demonstrate their adherence to the great family of LLU at the end of celebration freshmen took the pledge to conscientiously study and to be honest in the study process and to always honor their Alma Mater.
