Application procedure for Exchange students at Latvia University of Agriculture
If you are interested in studying at LLU as an exchange student, begin to contact the international studies coordinator at your home university or department. To be admitted at LLU as an exchange student you must first be accepted as an exchange student at your home university.
First, your home university (International Office) has to nominate you for your exchange mobility to Latvia University of Agriculture.
A nomination includes the student’s name, surname and e-mail address, and it is to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Deadlines for nominations are:
Autumn semester: May 1st
Spring semester: November 1st
After your nomination, the International Cooperation Centre of Latvia University of Agriculture will contact you and send you the Application form. You shall fill in and get all the necessary signatures (confirmed by institutional and departmental coordinator). Additionally you will have to hand in a Health insurance certificate and a Language proficiency certificate.

The International office of Latvia University of Agriculture will send you a Letter of Acceptance by mail no later than two weeks after the deadline of the application. This Letter of Acceptance is the official document entitling you to study at Latvia University of Agriculture.
Enrolment at Latvia University of Agriculture takes place after your arrival, at the beginning of the semester. The enrolment date is given on the Letter of Acceptance sent to you by the International Cooperation Centre of Latvia University of Agriculture.
The following documents are needed for enrolment:
- Letter of Acceptance
- Passport or Identity Card
- Health insurance certificate
A good standard of English is required to become an exchange student at the Latvia University of Agriculture because teaching involves student participation, class discussion, project work and student presentation. It means that you must have a command of English equivalent minimum to the pass grade at B2 level (CEFR) (IELTS - score 6,0).
