Become a friend to foreign students in Jelgava
The new academic year promises to be a truly international.
In autumn semester 40 new foreign students from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Estonia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and Germany joined our full-time students family.
Each and every student of Latvia University of Agriculture has the opportunity to become a buddy, a friend to new foreign students. The main responsibilities are to help him or her fit in our university environment as well as show around Jelgava and Latvia.
As an international student yourself, a student who has spent some time here, who has gone through all the questions, confusion and fitting in, you are the best candidate for this.
The advantages of becoming a buddy to international students:
- The opportunity to improve your language skills, gain intercultural experience and gain new friends.
- The aim is to help foreign students to fit in and adapt to the new environment;
- A student buddy is both an assistant as well as helper to foreign students to which you can turn for help and information;
- It’s important that buddy shows and suggest to foreign students the best entertainment, leisure and event sites both in Jelgava and Latvia;
- Special events and trips will be organized for foreign students and their buddies.
- A bonuss for internactional students buddies when applying for Erasmus studies and internships abroad.
